Mountain tourism, climbing and hiking – a cause of drastic synanthropy in alpine accentors in the last 200 years JF - Oecologia Montana JA - OM VL - 31 IS - 1 SE - Standard articles DO - UR - https://om.vuvb.uniza.sk/index.php/OM/article/view/355 AB - This study briefly describes the history of synanthropy in a high-altitude bird species, Prunella collaris. A list of food items that synanthropic individuals seek in garbage in the mountains is presented. Possible influences on behavioural changes and physiology of this protected species are discussed. The large number of synanthropic individuals of this species is evidence of how the development of alpine tourism in Europe over the last 200 years has seriously affected the life of alpine fauna.
